These five children's novels will be read by ten children as part of the Prix Dimoitou / 25e Heure du livre. The vote for the one they prefer will take place Saturday, October 12, at the book fair of Le Mans.


These five children's novels will be read by ten children as part of the Prix Dimoitou / 25e Heure du livre. The vote for the one they prefer will take place Saturday, October 12, at the book fair of Le Mans.

Since 2008, the Prix Dimoitou has been honoring a writer or writer of children's books every year. This prize was created by Ouest-France with the Le Mans 25th Hour Book Fair.

The first award-winning writer was Jean-Marie Defossez for his book Pour tout l'or du monde , in 2009.

Five books are selected by a reading committee, composed of journalists from Ouest-France, among the books intended for 8-10 years published in the year. Then, a juror of ten children reads these books and votes for his favorite. This vote will take place on Saturday, October 12, at Le Mans, during the book fair.

Here are the five candidate books:

The news : Gabriel, a college student in Brittany, becomes a friend with Haya who fled his country at war. He discovers, thanks to her, a family secret (126 pages, Flammarion, 8,50 €).

The author: Cassandra O'Donnell also writes for adults. She lives in Normandy. His name is a pseudonym.
