The city wants to continue promoting e-mobility. The funding program launched in 2019 will be continued this year and will even be expanded in some areas. However, one vehicle was deleted from the funding list.
Fürstenfeldbruck - The funding regulation has been in force since August last year. Pedelecs, cargo pedelecs, cargo bicycles, cargo trailers and small electric motorbikes are funded. 37 applications had been received by the end of December.
Twelve of the applications were commercial (ten pedelecs and two freight pedelecs). Two applications came from freelancers (a pedelec and an electric moped). A total of 23 applications were received from private individuals (including a pedelec, 13 cargo pedelecs, two cargo bicycles, a cargo trailer and three mopeds).
Already spent 20,000 euros
The budget for the funding program included 50,000 euros. Around 7100 euros have already been used, and another 13 500 euros are still needed for applications that have already been approved. In total, around EUR 20,000 of the funding was used from August to December. “With 50,000 euros for a whole year, we're not that far away,” said Vice-Mayor Christian Götz (BBV).
"The program was a complete success," judged ÖDP City Councilor Dieter Kreis. The continuation of the funding was therefore never in question in the Environment and Transport Committee. The city councils only adjusted a few details. This year, child trailers, tricycles and electric tricycles for adults are also to be promoted.
And folding bikes?
The administration had also proposed to include folding bikes without a motor in the funding guidelines. The idea behind it: Such vehicles would be excellent for taking on public transport. The way to or from the stop could then be covered by bike instead of by car. In addition, you save the transport fee for bicycles on the train. However, the city councils could not convince this concept. "I'm afraid we only use it to finance the bike for the campsite for vacationers on Lake Garda," said Christian Götz.
At the suggestion of Alexa Zierl (ÖDP), the combination of cargo bike and pedelec for private individuals was also newly included in the funding. Pedelecs have so far not been eligible for this. To this end, the committee agreed that S-Pedelecs will also be funded in the future. These bicycles reach speeds of up to 45 km / h and are therefore also suitable for longer distances. The only requirement for funding: the distance between your place of residence and your place of work must be at least ten kilometers.
