Moscow - Sana
The Russian Foreign Ministry confirmed that the new US sanctions against a company in Moscow and a number of Russian citizens under the pretext of supplying aircraft fuel to Russian forces in Syria "absolutely unacceptable."
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei was quoted by the RIA Novosti news agency as saying
"This move seems to be a continuation of the old US policy of unilateral sanctions, which we consider totally unacceptable," Vershinin told reporters today.
The US Treasury Department announced earlier today the imposition of new sanctions on three Russian citizens and one company and five ships for what they described in their role "in providing jet fuel for Russian forces in Syria."
Russia has been participating in the war on terror alongside the Syrian Arab Army since September 2015 at the request of the Syrian Arab Republic. Dozens of massacres have been committed against innocent civilians in Syria and Iraq and have consistently destroyed vital infrastructure.
