Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin said today that sending additional US troops to the Middle East and strengthening Washington's military capabilities in the region would not help solve problems in the region.
"We do not believe that the escalating tension in the Gulf is resolved by military means and increased military capabilities," Sputnik quoted Vershinin as saying in a briefing.
"In any case, not through military means, these problems are solved," Vershinin said.
US Defense Secretary Mark Asper announced on Saturday that US President Donald Trump had agreed to send additional troops to the Middle East against the backdrop of the attack on the oil installations of the Saudi regime.
This measure is a continuation of the administration's policies of extortion and threat in order to seek more gains and complete the hegemonic schemes and targeting the rejectionist countries.
