The Carrefour group turns against its suppliers. The DGCCRF pinned the distributor on February 10, as did System U and Intermarché, for failing to complete the annual negotiations with their suppliers last year on time. The Bercy administration responsible for combating consumer fraud imposed a financial penalty of more than 4 million euros, including 2.9 million euros for Carrefour.

According to information from LSA confirmed in Figaro , the distributor disputes this fine in a letter addressed to the DGCCRF, and will bring an action against five suppliers. " Your services have created a fixed date consent requirement attributable to only one of the parties to the agreement ," points out this letter. Carrefour will therefore contest the fines applied before the administrative judge . ”
The penalty imposed " obliges " Carrefour moreover "to have to examine the remedies against those of suppliers who have a responsibility in the absence of signature before March 1, 2019 of the written agreement" . Finally, the distributor specifies that it will end its commercial relations with some of the suppliers with whom annual negotiations have not been concluded this year by the deadline, March 1.

Thierry Cotillard, president of IntermarchéNeither Intermarché nor System U have yet taken steps similar to that of Carrefour. On the other hand, they strongly protested against the sanction which was imposed on them, and pointed out the unequal treatment with the industrialists. The president of Intermarché was indignant, in a column published in L'Obs , that the suppliers had not been sanctioned, stressing that it takes two to conclude an agreement. " It is unimaginable that multinationals are not subject to any constraint, " said Thierry Cotillard.
For the current commercial negotiations, the deadline of which is fixed at March 1, Bercy indicates that the industrialists will be controlled by the DGCCRF in the same way as the distributors, some not playing the game.
