Five years after releasing her previous album, Selena Gomez is currently busy promoting her new album Rare, which is already considered a huge success and, as expected, his release and promotion also provide quite a few titles.

In the five years since her last album was released, Gomez has had a jolt in her personal life, which of course included her relationship with Justin Bieber and De Wickand, and a collection of health and mental health issues that included hospitalization and treatment.

In a recent interview with NPR's US public radio station, Gomez (27) first admitted that the song "Lose You to Love Me" was actually written about her erratic relationship with Justin Bieber, which included quite a few dramas, farewells and rehearsals.

"It's not a hate song," Gomez emphasized. "It's a song that points to the fact that I had something beautiful and will never deny it and say it wasn't," she said. "It was very difficult and I'm glad it's over. I felt it was a wonderful way to say it and declare it over, that I understand it ... and are now stepping into a new chapter in my life."

"When I originally wrote it, it had a different meaning from now," the singer explained. "I felt I didn't have the respect to close a circle and I accepted it at the time, but now I realized that I had to find the way to say things I had to say back then."

When the moderator urged her to ask if the song was talking directly to Bieber, Gomez admitted that it was, but added that she had not seen in their relationship one of the difficult things she had experienced in recent years. "I found my strength in her," she said, adding: "It's hard to stay in a victim mentality. I have no intention of sounding disrespectful but I did feel I was a victim of some abuse," Gomez dropped a bomb into the studio space.

When asked if she meant emotional abuse, she replied, "Yes, and I think that's something I should have found the way to understand as a mature person. I had to understand my choices. I don't want to spend the rest of my life talking about it, but I'm very proud to announce that I feel the most Strongest I've ever been and found the way to deal with it in the most graceful way possible.
