Storm Dennis damaged a white glass canopy of Reims cathedral, projecting glass and lead debris into the nave, without causing other damage, said the Marne prefecture on Monday 17 February.

Located 25 m high on the north facade of the cathedral, at the level of the second span, this glass roof partially broke Sunday around 5.30 pm, "due to the storm and under the effect of strong winds" , specifies the prefecture in a press release. The building was temporarily closed before reopening to the public Monday morning, a "security perimeter" prohibiting only access to the first spans.

"The Departmental Architecture and Heritage Unit of Marne does what is necessary (...) to secure the bay concerned" and "undertake the necessary repairs" , adds the prefecture.
