With the participation of about 390 companies from 31 Arab and foreign countries kicked off this evening the activities of the reconstruction of Syria, the fifth session "age 5" on the ground of the exhibition city and will continue until the twenty-first of September.
The exhibition includes a variety of products, equipment, machinery, construction materials, constructional technologies, energy, health, education, agriculture, telecommunications, water technology and services, insurance, real estate development, transport, tourism, protection systems, security and information technology.
In a statement to SANA, Deputy Minister of Public Works and Housing Mohammad Saif Al-Din said that the exhibition is an opportunity to learn about the latest urban technologies for its important role in the reconstruction phase, noting the wide participation of foreign companies as a new evidence for Syria's return to its former era.
In turn, the Iranian ambassador in Damascus Javad Turkabadi said that the participation comes from the standpoint of solidarity with Syria and the declaration and stand by its side against the unilateral economic measures imposed on them and to prove the ability that Syria and Iran countries are able to rise and build.
General Manager of Al-Basheq Tamer Yaghi pointed out that the exhibition is a link between businessmen, investors and public and private sector companies, pointing out that what distinguishes this session is the large volume of foreign and Arab participation.
A number of participants in the exhibition confirmed that the aim of the exhibition is to highlight the role of the public and private sectors in reconstruction and the possibility of achieving partnership between them, considering the exhibition as an opportunity for direct communication between the decision-maker and the direct executor of projects.
The interior spaces reserved for the first time exceeded 22,500 square meters in addition to large outdoor spaces to showcase the latest equipment, technologies and reconstruction mechanisms.
The first edition of the Syria Reconstruction Fair was organized on September 16, 2015 with the participation of 65 local and Arab companies and the second session on September 7, 2016 with the participation of 122 companies from 11 countries and the third on September 19, 2017 with the participation of 164 companies from 23 countries. The fourth session was held on October 2 last year with the participation of 270 companies representing 29 Arab and foreign countries.
The inauguration of the exhibition, organized by Al-Bashiq Exhibitions Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of Public Works and Housing, was attended by a number of ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, businessmen and economists.
