Oberding - The tennis club Oberding has had an eventful year. The chairwoman Ute Attenberger had to do with her team of many people on many construction sites, but also had a number of positive things to report at the annual general meeting in the Vereinsheim am Moosrain.

According to the TCO boss, the development in the number of members is particularly encouraging. "You go up continuously. We left the low behind. ”In 2017 the number of tennis players was still 217, the year after it rose to 242 and in 2019 the club had 267 members again. This is mainly due to the good youth work.

Motivate more members to participate

Attenberger described the two performance class tournaments, which were fully booked at the beginning and end of the season, as successful. "They bring life to the facility." The closing ceremony with the final games of the club championship and the two Ramadama campaigns were also a direct hit. "We want to motivate even more members to participate," said Attenberger, who at the same time thanked her club committee for the active support in the working groups, but also the sponsors and, above all, the municipality of Oberding, "who supports all construction measures. It would not work without them ”.

Because this made it easier to deal with the problem areas: be it the amendment to the statutes (DGVO), youth work or the new wells required for irrigating the square due to the fallen groundwater. A new water meter was installed here later. Or the immense water damage caused by a rain gutter not blocked from the outside. This was remedied by a solid solution - this time it will be time to finish the exterior plaster, says Attenberger.

Construction sites don't run out

The TCO will therefore not run out of construction sites in the future either. This year you have the edging with wooden palisades on the seats or the outside stairs to the clubhouse on the agenda. For this, the chairperson would like to replace the mats (“too heavy, too unwieldy”) and old benches on the seats. At the moment they are still looking for a trainer for individual lessons for adults. But Attenberger was confident of presenting a solution by the start of the season.

The highlight of the meeting was the honor of longstanding members "who feel connected to the TCO, even if they are no longer the most diligent in training", said Attenberger. She thanked nine tennis players for their loyalty with certificates, needles and the women who have been with them for four decades with a colorful bouquet of flowers.

Standstill

No training, no Ramadama: The TC Oberding has also reacted to the school closings and the catastrophe and has suspended child and youth training until further notice. "We want to wait for further developments in the matter of corona and are following the recommendations of the Bavarian Tennis Association," said TCO chairman Ute Attenberger. The planned Ramadama of the members and the construction of the square are also affected by the ban.
