Syria's national basketball team crowned the West Asian Women's U-16 Championship after its victory over the Lebanese team 57-49 points in the final match that took place today in Al-Faiha Sports City in Damascus.
The Iraqi team participated in the tournament, in addition to our team and the Lebanon team. On the first day of the tournament that started yesterday, our team won over its Iraqi counterpart, 60-16 points, while Lebanon won the Iraq team yesterday with a score of 69-42 points.
The West Asian Basketball Association held its meeting at the General Sports Federation headquarters in Damascus last October, during which it decided to hold two championships, one of which is the under-16 women's championship, which ended today and the second for the under-18 category for men will be held next February.
