Syria's youth football team began an external training camp in Russia yesterday as it prepares for next month's Asian Cup qualifiers in Tajikistan.
The team are due to meet Rostov U-21 on Saturday in their first friendly match in the camp in the Russian city of Rostov and renewed confrontation with the city team itself, which plays in the Premier League for this category next Tuesday.
The team includes Samer Bastanli, technical director, Khaled Al-Sahw, administrative manager, Yasser Laffah, Maan Al-Rashed, assistant coach, Mohamed Rizk, goalkeeper coach, Rabia Hamama, media coordinator, Khaled Al-Sheikh physiotherapist, Fayez Al-Nabulsi, Maslaka, and Mohammed Firas Al-Zain, equipment official.
The players are Ahmed Amara, Mohammed Hatem Nabulsi, Yassin Abu Karsh, Waseem Ayoub, Yehia Karak, Mohammed Melhem, Mohammed Maatouq, Haitham Almond, Abdel Kader Shaaban, Mustafa Al-Safrani, Ahmed Daly, Mohamed Rihani, Mohammed Mashhadani, Fadl Alis, Mohammed Amjad Fayyad, Yousef Assaf, Fawaz Bawadkji, Mohand Baghna, Sobhi Jadan, Mohannad Fahmri, Subhi Jadan, and the black.
Our team will play in Group C with Lebanon, Maldives and Tajikistan in the second, fourth and sixth of next month respectively.
This camp is the second external training for our team in preparation for the next qualifiers, where he held his first camp in the Sultanate of Oman last July, during which he held two friendly matches with his Omani counterpart, winning the first goal without a reply and the second draw negatively.
The qualifying system provides for the qualification of the 11 group champions and the four best teams in second place.
