(CNN Spanish) - The communications team of Juan Guaidó denounced the disappearance of Juan José Márquez, uncle of the Venezuelan opposition leader, who is recognized as interim president for more than 50 countries.

Through a statement published on the site of the National Assembly, it is explained that Márquez accompanied Guaido on the flight that arrived in Venezuela on Tuesday, when they were returning from a tour of more than 20 days in North America, Europe and other countries.

He adds that Marquez got off the plane along with other passengers and crew, but that after passing migration he would have been held by tax administration officials.

CNN has tried to communicate with the authorities of the Maiquetía International Airport, but has failed to obtain a response to the complaint of the National Assembly of Venezuela.
