Washington - Sana
The US Senate Foreign Relations Committee announced today that senior State Department officials will give members of the Committee a "secret briefing" on the policy toward Iran next week amid efforts to pass legislation limiting the ability of US President Donald Trump to wage war against Tehran.
Reuters reported that US envoy Brian Hook will be on top of the briefing next Tuesday.
The Democrat-controlled US House of Representatives voted earlier this month in favor of preventing Trump from conducting more military action against Tehran after the assassination of Lt. Gen. Qassem Soleimani by US forces on direct orders from Trump.
