NEW YORK - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin reaffirmed the need to abide by the unity of Syria and Russia

MOSCOW - Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Vershinin reaffirmed the need to abide by the unity, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Syria and continue to fight terrorism until it is finally eliminated.

During a meeting of the Security Council on the situation in Syria today, Vershineen called for supporting the work of the constitution discussion committee which is scheduled to start next month with Syria's ownership and without any external interference.

He called on the international community to unite efforts and work to support the political process and dialogue between Syria and Syria, pointing out that the next meeting in Astana formula on the settlement of the crisis in Syria will be held "soon" in the capital of Kazakhstan, Sultan Sultan.

The Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the United Nations to Syria non-Pederson announced during the meeting of the Security Council that the Constitution Discussion Committee will hold its first meeting in Geneva on 30 October next.

The Permanent Representative of Syria to the United Nations, Dr. Bashar Jaafari, stressed during the session that the formation of a committee to discuss the constitution and agree on the terms of reference and foundations of its work with the ownership and leadership of Syria away from any external interference national success exceeded the obstacles set by anti-Syrian countries to prolong the crisis and hinder the political solution.
