Only recidivism, committed within a period of fifteen days, can now be punished with a fine of 200 euros, according to the Ministry of

No, non-compliance with the containment measures did not increase to 200 euros. This information was disseminated this Sunday, following a misinterpretation of a decree published in the Official Journal. In reality, the Ministry of the Interior tells us, the violation of so-called confinement measures "remains punishable by a fine of 135 euros (4th class offense)". However, recidivism can be increased to 200 euros. "In the event of reiteration, that is to say if a second violation is noted within the period of 15 days, a 5th class violation may be noted," insists one.

The decree of March 28 fixes the amount of the fine for this fifth class contravention at 200 euros (and 450 € in the event of an increase, namely if the fine is not paid within 45 days, with a deadline additional 15 days in the event of electronic payment). The new decree also provides for the flat-rate of the fifth class ticket.

Certificate of derogatory travel

To avoid a ticket, in the event of an exit, individuals must have a derogatory travel certificate, duly stamped, by checking the box corresponding to the authorized reason. This certificate, available on the government website, can be printed or written on plain paper, as we detail in this article.

Individuals must also respect any more restrictive measures taken by their prefect (curfews, etc.) and not participate in a gathering of more than 100 people. On the professional side, managers of establishments open to the public (shops, etc.) who would open their doors can also be fined.
