Despite the close link between Venezuela and the government of former president of Bolivia Evo Morales, there are differences between the armed forces of both countries. In Venezuela, the uniformed are identified as "chavistas and anti-imperialists", while in Bolivia they have maintained much of their autonomy, an important factor in the current political crisis in the country.
