The Pro is a very powerful desktop computer whose price starts at $ 5,999 (includes keyboard, trackpad and mouse), while the Pro Display XDR is a screen priced at $ 4,999 for the surface with glossy finish and $ 5,999 for the non-reflective finish or mate.

Both teams of professional level in the strictest sense of the word and are not for the domestic consumer or even for users who use their equipment professionally but in jobs that do not require high power. The price already implies. If you are a consumer and you are looking for a “prosumer” device, it makes more sense to look at an iMac Pro or even a Mac Mini. Keep in mind that in the latter you can update the RAM yourself, which allows you to add more power if necessary.

The basic configuration of the Apple Mac Pro starts with an Intel Xeon 8-core processor, 32 GB of RAM, 256 GB of solid-state storage, and an AMD Radeon 580X graphics card. Almost all the components of the equipment can be updated. It is a very fast machine, especially optimized for video processing intensive in very high resolution and probably a very healthy number of tabs in Safari or Chrome.
Similarly, the Pro Display XDR screen is a 32-inch Retina display with 6K resolution that competes not with traditional monitors but with reference monitors that are commonly used in the world of cinema for editing or for photo shoots of high level where perfect color reproduction is necessary. It is undoubtedly a monitor orders of magnitude above the Cinema Display that Apple sold so far. Both the Mac Pro and the Pro Display XDR are assembled in the United States.
An important detail: the price of $ 4,999 or $ 5,999 of the screen does not include a bracket or wall mount adapter. That stand costs $ 999 and the wall mount $ 199.
It is a crazy machine with a commensurate price but if you are interested in one it is worth acting fast because deliveries are very likely to be delayed early in spring 2020.
