Jamaican Elaine Thompson-Herah, this Saturday, retained her Olympic title over 100 m in 10.61.
She beat her compatriots Shelly Ann Fraser-Pryce (10''74), titled on the Olympic straight in 2008 and 2012, and Shericka Jackson (10''76), for a Jamaican treble.
The Ivorian Marie-Josée Ta Lou finishing at the foot of the podium (10''91).
10''61, Elaine Thompson-Herah was struck by amazement as she read her time.
She fell backwards realizing that she was simply the second fastest time in history (wind -0.6 m / s).
Only the time of Florence Griffith Joyner (10''49, in Indianapolis on July 16, 1988) withstood the Jamaican tornado.
Elaine Thompson-Herah offers herself by passing the Olympic record which belonged to "Flo-Jo" (10''62 in 1988, in Seoul)

If Elaine Thompson-Herah posted one of the least efficient reaction times (0''150) of the finalists (only Shericka Jackson and Marie-Josée Ta Lou spouted slower), the rest of her race proved to be limpid. She was so in front that she allowed herself, like Usain Bolt, to celebrate her victory in a spectacular way before crossing the line.
