10,500 women work in agriculture in Saxony

More than every third worker in Saxony's agriculture is a woman. As the State Statistical Office in Kamenz announced on Thursday, around 10,500 women were among the 30,300 employees last year. Of the female workers, 36 percent were full-time and 64 percent part-time.

As the State Statistical Office in Kamenz announced on Thursday, around 10,500 women were among the 30,300 employees last year.

Of the female workers, 36 percent were full-time and 64 percent part-time.

Kamenz - According to the statisticians, 1,100 women were employed as plant managers or managing directors.

This means that 17 percent of the 6,500 agricultural businesses in Saxony were run by women.

More than half of the farm managers were between 45 and 64 years old.
