Ten people were killed in a terrorist attack today in Plateau state, central Nigeria.
"The attackers started shooting at the residents and setting fire to homes, which resulted in the destruction of more than thirty houses and the death of at least ten people," Xinhua news agency quoted a source in the Nigerien police as saying, noting that the police quickly rushed to the scene to pursue the gunmen.
Since 2009, Nigeria has witnessed repeated terrorist attacks and operations by groups affiliated with the terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, which have left thousands dead and forced more than 2.6 million people to flee.
