Astronomers have made an exciting discovery related to the "GW Oriones" system, which is only 1,300 light-years away from us.
Previously, scientists believed that JW Orionis is not very different from our solar system, knowing that this system consists of three stars partially surrounded by rings of space debris.
But a new study conducted by researchers at the University of Nevada, USA, showed a large gap in the dusty rings, according to the "Cnet" website, which specializes in scientific news.
In a research published in the Journal of the Royal Astronomical Society, astronomer Jeremy Smallwood explained that there is a possibility of the presence of a large planet or planets in the region that separates the disks of the JW Oriones system.
Smallwood added: "It is possible that this planet or planets is gaseous, like Jupiter, but what distinguishes it is the presence of three suns revolving around it."
Astronomers had previously discovered planets in triple star systems, such as LTT 1445 AB, which contains three suns in its sky but orbits only one of the stars.
