The long Easter holiday began, and the police have stepped up inspections of bars for illegal business operations due to the repeated epidemics.

Early this morning (April 2), the Yau Tsim Police District Anti-Triad Action Team discovered that a bar on Granville Road holding a liquor license was suspected of operating illegally.

After investigation, a 55-year-old male person in charge, a 43-year-old male staff member and a 48-year-old female staff member were suspected of violating the "Prevention and Control of Diseases (Regulations and Instructions) (Business and Premises Regulations)" (Chapter 599F) Arrested and being detained for investigation; 38 men and 18 women (20 to 55 years old) customers were charged for violating the Prevention and Control of Disease (Prohibition of Group Gathering) Ordinance (Chapter 599G).

It is understood that the bar involved was in a "closed" state at the time, but when guests came, it would be open for them to patronize.

Inspector Lei Jiajun of the Anti-Triad Action Team of the Yau Tsim Police District said that selfish and illegal activities will not be tolerated, and the law will be enforced decisively, urging the public not to try the law during long holidays.

At about 6:40 in the evening yesterday (April 1), it was pounded at an industrial building on Falling Hill Road in To Kwa Wan. Broken illegal sparrow stalls and seized 4 electric sparrow tables, 8 sparrows and about 1,800 yuan in gambling money.

A woman surnamed Chen (52 years old) was arrested on suspicion of "operating a gambling establishment"; 4 men and 4 women (aged 43 to 67) were arrested for "gambling in a gambling establishment". One woman was a mainlander.

All of them were also voted against for violating the "restriction order".
