Erding - 2G plus - vaccinated, recovered, tested - was mandatory on Wednesday evening in the Stadtwerke Erding Arena, and so the first question was how many spectators would come under these conditions: it was finally 200.

The second question was how the corona and consequently weakened Erding Gladiators will fare against the top favorite TEV Miesbach:

They fought great, sold well, but ultimately had no chance at 3: 6 (1: 3, 2: 2, 0: 1) in an extremely fair game.

The Erdinger squad looked a little better than on Sunday in Königsbrunn. Philipp Michl and Alex Gantschnig had reported back, and coach Thomas Vogl had two more alternatives. The Miesbachers, who recently recorded seven victories in a row, set the pace as hell and put a lot of pressure on the goal guarded by Thomas Mende from the very first second. And after a good five minutes, the guests took the lead through Bohumil Slavicek - the gladiators hadn't even come near the TEV box at this point.

The first shot, which then hit the goal of ex-Erdingers Timon Ewert, was then promptly to make it 1: 1.

After a great combination, captain Michl was successful.

But Miesbach hit back immediately, and top scorer Slavicek put the puck into the net to make it 2-1 (14th).

And shortly before the end of the third, the outstanding Slavicek also made it 3-1.

Miesbach remained decisive in the middle third, but Erding now had counter-chances.

Sebastian Busch used one of them after the Krzizok pass to make it 2: 3 (26th).

But only two minutes later, Florian Feuerreiter restored the old distance.

But with a great individual performance, "Nothelfer" Philipp Spindler brought the Gladiators 3: 4 (29th).

However, Miesbach continued to play calmly and serenely in the style of a top team and came through Franz Mangold in the majority to 5: 3 (36th).

Miesbach opened the final third with the lucky 6: 3 by Johannes Bacher (46th).

That was the preliminary decision, but the gladiators kept fighting tirelessly.

And so the gladiators finally left the ice with 3G - played, fought, beaten - but were able to be satisfied with their performance.
