Against the background of what it defines as "the conditions of employment and the workload imposed on the assistants," the Histadrut declared a labor dispute in the local government. The conflict, which also includes the three major cities (Jerusalem, Tel Aviv and Haifa), affects about 40,000 aides.

In a letter sent by the chairman of the Maof Histadrut, Gil Bar-Tal, to the director of labor relations at the Ministry of Labor, Welfare and Social Services, he stated that the Histadrut demands that appropriate compensation be paid to assistants, while regulating the manner and scope of their work.

According to him, the kindergarten assistants are required to perform additional work such as individual didactic work, and suffer from an increasing workload due to the significant shortage of manpower and many unmanned standards.

In addition, there are frequent changes in the work arrangements of the assistants and they are forced to perform tasks without additional remuneration, while moving between different genes within the same local authority. The letter also stated that new programs, such as "Nitzanim", are taking place unilaterally and without additional pay.

Bar-Tal also noted that there is a deadlock in negotiations to regulate the wages and working conditions of assistants / mentors for a sick child in his home and the lack of payment of wages for the work already performed.

Histadrut Chairman Arnon Bar-David

: "Assistants who work hard for the education of all of our children cannot be at the bottom of the priority ladder of the education system in Israel. The assistants work long hours and often even have to replace the kindergarten teachers. The severe shortage in the industry is not due to the fact that Israel does not have a professional workforce to fill

these positions, but rather to the full range of employment conditions for the assistants. I call on the local government to conduct negotiations that will lead to a speedy solution for the sake of these traditional facts. "

Chairman of the Maof Federation, Adv. Gil Bar-Tal

: "The assistants point with their feet! They refuse to staff the jobs, existing workers courses and kindergartens are closed every day in the absence of minimal manpower. The

parents, children and employees are paying for the incompetence of the Treasury to block the market moving forward and finding effective solutions. The hours of employment of the assistants must be reduced in the same way as gardeners,"To increase their wages and improve the ratio between the number of education workers in the kindergarten and the number of children."
