The Hama Agriculture Directorate estimated the governorate’s production of groundnuts for the current agricultural season at 4749 tons within the lands within its field.
The director of Hama Agriculture, Engineer Abdel-Moneim Al-Sabbagh, told SANA reporter that peanuts are a major summer crop in the region and generate good financial returns and profits for farmers within a relatively short period, so they want to plant it, and the production requirements are available, pointing out that the area planted with peanuts is 13920 dunums and it is irrigated.
He pointed out that the areas of peanut cultivation are concentrated in the field of cultivation of Hama on the banks of the Orchards of the Orchards, especially in the orchards of Dahrieh, Jajieh, Khattab, Shiha, Kazu, Qamhana and Serihin, in addition to the lands of the Maharda, Asilah, Jib Ramla and others.
