An earthquake of magnitude 5.8 shook the Pacific coast of Nicaragua this Monday, according to reports from the United States Geological Survey (USGS, for its acronym in English).

The seismic focus was located 35 kilometers deep and the epicenter was located 77.2 kilometers north-northeast of Masachapa, Managua.

Nicaraguan Vice President Rosario Murillo asked the families to "clear the exits of the houses" and "remain alert" after the earthquake that was felt in the country.
