51-year-old after being held hostage in court: Pleadings expected

In the trial against a 51-year-old for hostage-taking and dangerous bodily harm, pleadings are expected today at the Kiel district court. According to the indictment, the father tried to force his daughter's partner to end the relationship. Shortly before Christmas 2017, the defendant is said to have brought his friend to a garden shed in a Kiel allotment garden colony.

According to the indictment, the father tried to force his daughter's partner to end the relationship.

Shortly before Christmas 2017, the defendant is said to have brought his friend to a garden shed in a Kiel allotment garden colony.

Kiel (dpa / lno) - Shortly afterwards, he then - masked and with three unknown accomplices - attacked, maltreated and threatened with death if he did not end the relationship.

The injured party is said to have been released three hours later.

The defendant is a Syrian citizen.

If convicted, he faces several years imprisonment.

The court had initially planned two days of the trial.

The taking of evidence, however, dragged on over several days of the trial.

The verdict is expected on Wednesday next week (October 27th).
