We all want to clean our house as thoroughly as possible in order to live in the cleanest possible environment.

But what to do, not all of us are experts and clean the house properly, even if the intention is to do so.

Sometimes we clean in such a way that actually only causes damage and more dirt.

Vanessa Amaro, a "cleaning guru" who has over 5 million followers on Tiktok, where she calls herself the "Tiktok cleaning queen", shared some common mistakes we make in cleaning and gave six tips that might save you mistakes and help you clean the house better.

One common mistake most of us make, she claims, is that we empty and replace the garbage bag but don't clean the bin itself.

Vanessa recommends cleaning the bin with a cloth and wiping it every time when we take out the full bag: "It doesn't take more than two minutes."

Another mistake is using a feather brush for dusting, and recommends using a microfiber dusting rod instead.

It may look good in the movies, nice and simple, but dusting with a feather brush only moves dust from one surface to another.

Instead, choose to clean with a microfiber cloth or wand or an electrostatic dusting cloth.

Very important - to ensure that the cloths continue to collect dust, they must be washed and replaced when they get dirty.

The third mistake she warns against is that we forget to clean things like the light switches or the signs in the house.

One of the dirtiest places in the house is the bathroom.
