Department of qualified prosecutors Directive Attorney General at the Justice Ministry announced today (Tuesday) to Europe, Asia Pipeline Company (EAPC) and company officials past and present, that is considering prosecution pending a hearing, due to the oil spill in the creek Evrona in 2014.



According to the allegations The company officials are responsible for the failures that led to the incident, which is considered one of the biggest ecological disasters in the history of the State of Israel. According to the letter of suspicion against the company, the leak was caused by improper execution of oil pipeline work, violating internal procedures and safety instructions. Following the leak, an investigation was opened against EPA (then the Ashkelon Eilat Pipeline Company) by the Green Police in the Ministry of Environmental Protection, in cooperation with the Israel Police and the Nature and Parks Authority.
