This is perhaps the biggest compliment a person can receive, but it turns out that looking young also has its drawbacks - especially if you look much younger than your age or rather - like a child.
Mao Shang, a resident of Dongguan, China, is 27 years old but he looks just like a 12-year-old boy. This is also the reason why he fails job interviews and remains unemployed.
In a heartbreaking video that Mao shared on TikTok, he said that he is desperate to find a job so that he can take care of his father who recently had a stroke.
He claims that he always fails job interviews because he looks younger than his age.
According to news outlet Oddity Central, many close to Mao agree that he doesn't look a day over 12. Many even think he's 10.
Do you realize he is 27 years old?

Mao claims that employers never believe his age and suspect that he is a government agent, sent to catch companies that violate the rules of employing minors.
He turned to TikTok to vent his frustration and explain that he needed a job to support his family.
He said that he went with a friend to apply for a job at the factory, but only the partner managed to get a job there.

There is a happy ending
The video went viral and Mao became a local celebrity.
Soon employers started contacting him with job offers.
An employer who watched the video after it was shared by a local news channel approached him with a concrete job offer - and he accepted it. Now he hopes to earn enough to take care of his father and also save himself some money for the future, when he will look like a 15-year-old teenager.
