An earthquake measuring 5.4 degrees on the Richter scale hit Kerman province, southeast of Iran, without reports of material or human losses.
"The earthquake hit the city of Rawar in the outskirts of Kerman and occurred at a depth of 10 km from the earth's surface," IRNA news agency quoted the National Seismological Center at Tehran University as saying.
Earlier today, an earthquake measuring 4.2 degrees on the Richter scale hit the Khorasan Radwa province, northeastern Iran.
