At one point, his grandmother notices that he is floating without moving.
As she raises the alarm, vacationers pull the child out of the water.
One of them carries out a cardiac message while help arrives.
They take over for an hour and manage to restart the victim's heart.
Ongoing investigation
The boy is then taken in a second time by helicopter to the hospital of Amiens.
His vital prognosis is engaged at this time.
He finally died there on Sunday.
The gendarmes went to the campsite where the facts occurred.
An investigation is underway to determine the circumstances that led to the child's death.
