The confirmation of his death comes after a great controversy, as the Netherlands media, citing police sources, reported on Monday the footballer's death while he was still in critical condition.

The player of the Dutch national team

Ryan Babel

, who coincided with Hoefdraad at Ajax, was one of the first to show his condolences through social networks, in which he published a photo of the victim in black and white with the text 'La life is short.

Hoefdraad, 35, was trained in the ranks of Ajax and then went through various Dutch clubs, such as RKC Waalwijk, Telstar, Almere City and SC Cambuur, with whom he played in the first division.

He was currently a member of the Volewijckers, an amateur club.

Sad background

A few days before, footballer Noah Gesser, just 16 years old and considered one of the great promises of Ajax Amsterdam, died in a traffic accident with his brother, according to the club.

Born on February 27, 2005 in IJsselstein, Gesser had played for Ajax since 2018, having gone through the Alphense Boys.

This season he was scheduled to play for the Under 17 team of the prestigious Dutch club.

Since he was a child he was already seen as an enormous talent.

Feyenoord fought to keep his services, but finally it was Ajax that won the ticket.

The death of Gesser is not the first tragedy that shakes the quarries of Ajax.

In July 2017, the promising Moroccan midfielder Abdelhak Nouri, 20, collapsed during the friendly against Werder Bremen as a result of an arrhythmia that left him in a coma.
