Two French policemen were injured when they were stabbed with a sword carried by a gunman dressed as a ninja in the northwestern French city of Cherbourg today.
Reuters quoted a police spokeswoman as saying that a person dressed in ninja clothes stabbed two policewomen with a sword at a gas station in Torlaville, stole a car and ran away before he was involved in an accident and the police were able to arrest him.
The spokeswoman added that the security forces shot and wounded the gunman and surrounded him to arrest him.
The French authorities said that the attack did not have a terrorist character so far.
