Today, an earthquake measuring 6.2 on the Richter scale hit the southeast of the Nikolsky region in the US state of Alaska, without reports of injuries or damage.
The US Geological Survey stated that the earthquake struck at a depth of 37 km at the confluence of 52.777 degrees north latitude and 168.194 degrees west longitude.
A 5.6-magnitude earthquake struck last August off the coast of Alaska, but no injuries were reported.
