The Independent Movement of Retired and Unemployed (MIJD) led by

Raúl Castells

has been gathering from 10 am this Friday in the vicinity of the Buenos Aires Obelisk, in a protest that demands, among other things, food assistance for community kitchens, a increase in the amounts of social plans and jobs for the unemployed in public works plans.

The MIJD mobilization will then move to the Ministry of Social Development, at the corner of Belgrano and 9 de Julio avenues.

But from early on, circulating in the area became a real problem.

The Metrobús is cut off.

That is why there were moments of intense nervousness and tension between the picketers and the Police - Infantry included -, who were trying to free the vehicular track for traffic to circulate, since it was not planned that a cut would be made.

The picket protest generated great vehicular chaos in the surrounding area of the corner of Corrientes and 9 de Julio avenues, and generated long delays towards the lower part of Buenos Aires and towards the south of the Federal Capital.

The last days are intense days marked by cuts and pickets.

On Thursday the Polo Obrero, the Bloque Piquetero Nacional, among other organizations, also concentrated in downtown Buenos Aires.

Through a statement, they expressed that "in the last two months the Government

did not deliver a kilo of food for the soup kitchens

. We are not going to wait any longer, because millions of families today

do not have a plate of food on their table

."

"The popular anger against the adjustment takes to the streets" was the slogan of that protest, which demanded "the fall in social spending that translates into miserable social plans of amounts that are in the middle of the poverty basket, just $ 14,000, "they added in the letter.
