The branch of the Artists Syndicate in Homs, in cooperation with the Directorate of Culture, organized this evening a memorial ceremony for the late poet Issam Junaid, on the occasion of the forty days of his passing, in the hall of Dr. Sami Al-Droubi at the Arab Cultural Center.
Head of the Artists Syndicate in Homs, Amin Roumieh, confirmed that the memorial ceremony is a preservation of friendliness and appreciation for creative giving, as the late spent a life full of glowing poetic creativity.
He pointed out that Junaid's stay in the city of Homs sparked for him fountains of poetry and creativity, so his poetry was a mirror of his mind and heart, expressing people's lives and filled with emotional local climates, including his joys, sorrows, and belonging to the homeland.
Roumieh pointed out that singers and composers competed to win his poetic works, which were overshadowed by the artistic craftsmanship in writing lyrical poetry, indicating that the Syrian song had lost one of its original tributaries, but our consolation is what he left of a flowing poetic legacy.
In the speech of the Homs Culture Directorate, Wafa Younes expressed the sadness of the artistic and cultural circles at the departure of a large stature the size of Junaid, who was from the book The High Song and presented more than 800 songs that resonated on every Arab radio in which art increased beauty through his kind words.
In the speech of the friends of the late, the writer and critic Muhammad Rustom spoke about the virtues of the deceased and the noble morals in which he was shown and his kind words, which were a passport and an entry visa for the poet Junaid to the hearts of people, where he opened the windows of his words towards beauty, and he became one of the pyramids of the song book in the Arab world in general and Syria in particular.
Writer Samira Hamdan indicated in her lamentation speech at the memorial ceremony that she was proud of Junaid's friendship, who was a father, brother and loyal friend to everyone who knew him, showing his love and devotion to his work as an Arabic language teacher.
The writer Nizar Badour gave a speech by Issam Junaid entitled “A Creative Message”, in which he addressed his creative poetic creativity and his songs that remained a legacy, in addition to poems of elegy poems delivered by Badr Rostom, Ghassan Abu Hamida, Bashar Al-Juhani and the worship of Samer Junaid. song until his death.
After that, a shield was presented to the family of the deceased by the Artists Syndicate, and a portrait was presented by the Directorate of Culture.
The memorial ceremony was attended by Omar Houriya, Secretary of the Homs branch of the Arab Socialist Baath Party, the relatives of the deceased, his friends and lovers, and a large crowd of artists, intellectuals and writers.
It is noteworthy that Issam Junaid was born in 1950 from Salhab city in the Hama countryside and wrote hundreds of Arabic songs sung by great Arab singers for half a century.
