Member of Knesset Yaakov Litzman (Torah Judaism) today (Thursday) signed a plea agreement with the State Attorney's Office, in which he will resign from the Knesset.

Litzman pleaded guilty to breach of trust in the Malka Leifer affair, but not fraudulently.

The "deli" case where he was a suspect will be closed.

According to the plea agreement, following his resignation from the Knesset, the State Attorney's Office agreed that the agreement would not include disgrace.

Litzman will be sentenced to probation and a negligible fine of thousands of shekels.

The plea agreement was signed four days before the end of Avichai Mandelblit's term as attorney general.

The plea agreement with Litzman joins a series of easing agreements approved in recent months towards the end of Mandelblit's term, including the agreements signed with Shas chairman Aryeh Deri and MK Haim Katz of the Likud.

These cases, along with other cases, began with serious indictments for bribery offenses, and after negotiations were reduced to significantly minor offenses - breach of trust or rare offenses that were hardly used legally.
