The axes of the training workshop held by the Office of Profession Practice for Consultations, Training and Studies at the Faculty of Law at Damascus University today focused on the military judiciary, the principles of litigation in it theoretically and practically, its organization and specialization, the work mechanism of the military prosecution, the military investigation judiciary and military courts.

The workshop, which was launched today at the Faculty of Law at the University of Damascus and is held in cooperation with the Military Judiciary Department and the National Union of Syrian Students, lasts five days and includes practical applications and field tours with the participation of specialized judges officers and members of the university's faculty.

In a speech during the opening of the workshop, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Dr. Bassam Ibrahim, pointed to its importance in terms of training and qualification for new graduates, pointing to the ministry's readiness to cooperate with the Military Judiciary Department to conduct joint scientific research to implement linking educational and research outputs with the requirements and service of economic and social development.

For his part, the President of Damascus University, Dr. Muhammad Osama Al-Jabban, stressed the university’s keenness to support every distinguished scientific activity in partnership with various authorities and institutions in the community with the aim of providing training programs that meet the actual needs of the labor market, noting the workshop to provide the community with qualified scientific cadres in the field of the judiciary.

In turn, Major General Muhammad Kanjo, Director of the Military Judiciary Department, drew attention to the necessity of linking all that is studied at the Faculty of Law to practical reality and the origins of the judiciary, pointing out the importance of focusing on and deepening the jurisdiction of the military judiciary.

Major General Kanjo stressed that "the administration of military justice is working diligently to uphold the word of truth and justice, apply the law, create productive initiatives and organize carefully."

Dean of the Faculty of Law, Dr. Haitham Al-Tas pointed out the role of the workshop’s hubs in clarifying the laws related to the Syrian military judiciary and the principles of litigation in it as a specialized judiciary, pointing out that the military judges are the best able to understand this specificity as they are the children of the competent institution, which is what the Faculty of Law is trying to devote practically at the present time. through her teaching staff.
