(ANSA) - BERLIN, AUGUST 16 - "I want to say clearly that I don't agree with the use of the word apartheid and I don't think it describes the situation correctly" in Israel.
The German Chancellor Olaf Scholz said today, commenting on the words in the press conference of Abu Mazen, president of the PNA, on a visit to Berlin.
Abbas later declared that "from '47 to today Israel has committed 50 massacres in 50 Palestinian localities", speaking of "50 Holocausts".
Scholz listened to these words with visible irritation, but without comment.
The press conference ended immediately afterwards: a spokesman later reported that Scholz was indignant at what Abbas (ANSA) had said.
