In Austria's Lech, there was a fatal accident on Tuesday afternoon: A man from Baden-Württemberg slipped on a hiking trail in the Alps and fell 30 meters deep. His head injuries were deadly, police said.
According to this, the wanderer was an 80-year-old man from Schwäbisch Gmünd. He was traveling alone on his tour.
Another hiker on the Lech hiking trail from the Zug fish pond to Zugertal discovered the body of the man and alerted the emergency services. The dead was recovered by a helicopter crew and transported away by the mountain rescue service.
