The Spanish top club FC Barcelona will extend the expiring contract with its 18-year-old young star Ansu Fati by five years until 2027.
The Catalans announced this on their website on Wednesday evening.
As with youngster Pedri, whose contract was extended to 2026 last week, the release clause will be one billion euros.
“All I know is that they're getting close to renewing with Ansu Fati.
It is very good news.
He is one of those who have to determine the future of the club, «said Barca's coach Ronald Koeman on Tuesday.
The contract extension with Fati is to be officially sealed on Thursday afternoon.
The Guinea-Bissau-born winger is set to be built in Barcelona as the successor to Lionel Messi, who has moved to Paris Saint-Germain.
Fati recently also took over the Argentine's shirt number 10.
Homemade with numerous age records
Like Pedri, Fati was trained at the Blaugrana youth academy and became the youngest scorer in Barca history at the age of 16 years and 304 days.
Fati is also the youngest scorer in the Champions League and the Spanish national team.
