In December, at the virtual citizens' dialogue in the Ballenhaus in Schongau, the future of the region's hospitals was discussed.

However, many questions remained unanswered for the hospital action alliance.

Schongau - "The action alliance Pro Hospital Schongau is not satisfied with the civil dialogue!" So the representatives of the group with members from Schongau and the surrounding area are now speaking again.

Background: The event organized by Schongau's Mayor Falk Sluyterman on December 14 in the Ballenhaussaal was not a real dialogue, explains Stefan Konrad, spokesman for the action alliance when asked by the Schongauer Nachrichten.

Rather, it seemed to him like an information event of the hospital GmbH.

A wide-ranging team from the hospital GmbH, with a total of eight representatives, set out to answer questions from the citizens of Schongau.

In fact, however, only a few questions were answered after the introductory presentation by Professor Norbert Roeder, the author of the report on the future of the hospital GmbH.

Many questions have remained unanswered

The topic "Search for a specialist, especially for the Schongau hospital" took up a large part of the event, with the reasoning that "Schongau is not easily accessible" being the focus again and again, the action alliance explained in a press release this week.

The information provided by the hospital GmbH managing director Thomas Lippmann was also very surprising, the action alliance lists with a few examples.

According to Konrad, there were many questions about the future of the hospital that fell by the wayside that evening, which have not yet been answered to this day.

The press release lists some of the questions as an example: "If the plans for the construction of a new central clinic are stopped, what will happen to the Schongau hospital?

Is Schongau still an option as a location for a central clinic?

And if the Schongau hospital becomes a medical care center (MVZ), how will that affect emergency care in the western district?”

What about the maternity ward?

Last but not least, Konrad also mentioned the maternity ward when asked by the local newspaper.

"What will happen to the Schongau maternity ward if a children's intensive care unit is required by law?"

As an emergency paramedic, no one expects him to personally applaud the plans for a central hospital.

"So far, nobody has thought about what that means for the rescue service," says Konrad.

Also, no politician would make the decision about the future of the hospitals easy.

Nevertheless, Konrad does not consider the topic of outpatient care to be well thought through.

Last but not least, the Schongau Hospital is extremely important for the infrastructure of the city of Schongau and the entire region.

Alliance insists on answers

According to Konrad, District Administrator Andrea Jochner-Weiß was presented with a list of 25 questions.

"The action alliance continues to insist on answering the questions," the press release continues.

So far, one has had no opportunity to enter into a direct exchange, wishing for more "than just listening and nodding," said Konrad to the SN.
