While he confirmed last Tuesday that he would undoubtedly extend to PSG, Neymar is already thinking about his future after his football career. In an interview with CNews, the Brazilian said he would see himself as a professional poker player once he retired.

At only 29 years old, Neymar is already thinking about his retirement.

Is he heading towards a career as a coach?

No.

A job as a consultant on TV?

No more.

The Brazilian sees himself more pursued in… poker.

Fan of this game since 2014, he told CNews in an interview that he wanted to become a professional poker player after his football career.

"That is true.

It's one of the things I love to do the most.

I feel very comfortable and I think that after playing football I will be able to do tournaments, travel to play tournaments that I have always wanted to participate in and could not do in because of my agenda and my career.

So when I finish my football career, that's one of the things I'm going to do, travel to play this type of tournament, ”he said.

Great consumer of poker and ambassador of PokerStars, the Parisian player was also able to discuss his progress, he who has not played for so long.

"I have already told Akkari (André Akkari, one of his friends, professional poker player, editor's note) that we are going to travel together, I also spoke with another of our friends and this is one of the things I See myself doing well because I've been playing for a long time, playing almost every day and trying to learn more and more.

I ask Akkari a lot of advice, and other friends who are also poker pros so that I can improve my game. And I'm sure that in a few years, when I finish my career, I will be a little better, I will know how to enjoy the game itself and have fun, which is the most important thing ”.

Paredes and Navas, big fans of poker

During this interview, he was also able to talk about the Parisian players with whom he plays the most: “at PSG, we also play very often.

We played a lot when we were in Portugal together (for the Champions League Final 8).

Sometimes we meet at my house, or at (Keylor) Navas or (Leandro) Paredes.

It's also a way to unite the group, to spend more time together.

And also to play, to learn the game, to learn who is the one who lies the most.

But when you play, it's really cool ”.

His taste for poker is such that he named one of his dogs "Poker".

“Poker is one of the things I love to do the most and when I had my first dog, I chose to call him that,” he explained.
