Estonia and Germany send field hospitals to support Ukraine in its fight against Russia

Ukraine reports of Russian "torture prison" - survivors describe deeds

After the recapture of eastern Ukrainian areas, Ukraine reports evidence of torture in the places formerly occupied by the Russians.

Diesmal ist die Metropole Charkiw betroffen. „Aufgrund von Beschuss sind Objekte der kritischen Infrastruktur außer Betrieb, infolgedessen fielen der Strom und die Wasserversorgung aus“, schrieb der Bürgermeister der Stadt, Ihor Terechow, auf Telegram. An der Behebung der Probleme werde gearbeitet. Abend zuvor hatte es bereits kurzzeitig einen großflächigen Stromausfall in den Gebieten Sumy, Charkiw, Donezk, Poltawa und Dnipropetrowsk gegeben.

Militärexperten zur Ukraine-Gegenoffensive: Putin macht „tödlichen Fehler“

Erstmeldung vom 12. September: Kiew/Washington - Der Thinktank „Institute for the Study of War“ (ISW) in Washington veröffentlicht seit der russischen Invasion in die Ukraine regelmäßig Analysen zum Kampfgeschehen  - die jüngste klingt für Kremlchef Wladimir Putin nicht gut.

Anlass für diese Einschätzung sind die Erfolge der Ukraine bei ihrer Gegenoffensive. „Putin riskiert einen häufigen, aber tödlichen Fehler, indem er zu lange wartet, um Verstärkungen an die Luhansk-Front zu schicken“, zitiert Focus Online aus dem Papier (Anm.: Die ISW-Webseite war am 12. September - Stand 11 Uhr - vorübergehend nicht zu erreichen.)

Gar ein „Zeit-und-Raum-Dilemma“ sehen die ISW-Militärexperten für Putin, denn eigentlich müsste die russische Armee Truppen von anderen Kampfplätzen abziehen, um in den von ihnen besetzten Gebieten eine neue Verteidigungslinie aufzustellen - dafür sieht das ISW allerdings keine Anzeichen.

Frontverlauf im Ukraine-Krieg: Experten sehen Verschiebung

The day before, the ISW reported that President Volodymyr Zelensky's Ukrainian soldiers had regained more territory within five days than the Russian troops had occupied in total since April.

"The liberation of Izyum will be Ukraine's greatest military success since the victory in the Battle of Kyiv in March," it said in its analysis of the situation.

As a result, Russia's planned advance on the Donbass from the north failed, the experts said.
