Kim Kardashian's comedian and partner broke up with the Saturday Night Live sketch show after eight years as part of her cast

The satirical sketch show "Saturday Night Live" ended last night (Saturday) its 47th season with an exciting farewell to two of its big stars in recent years: Kate McKinnon and Pete Davidson.

Davidson joined the program team eight years ago, shortly before he turned 21, and became one of the youngest members in its history.

That was long before his name was linked to ex-girlfriend Ariana Grande (the two became engaged after a month of dating and separated after four months) and Kim Kardashian, his current girlfriend, whom he knew when she hosted the show last October.

He was spotted at amateur stand-up nights in New York, and gained a respectable presence on the show over the years.

Davidson also starred in movies such as "What Men Want," "Suicide Squad," and "The King of Staten Island," directed by Judd Apatow ("40-Year-Old Virgin"), a semi-biographical comedy about Davidson's life and growing up in the shadow of his father's tragedy. Who perished in the twin disaster.

Davidson has three new films in the pipeline for next year, and he is considered a sought-after comedian.

After deciding to leave the show he wrote in an Instagram post: "When I was accepted to the show I was 20 and had no idea what I was doing, I still have no idea but then even more. I owe my life to the creator Lauren Michaels and everyone on the show. I am grateful and not here without them. "Thank you for teaching me life lessons, how to grow up, and for giving me memories forever. SNL is my home."

An even more painful departure is that of Kate McKinnon, who joined the show ten years ago and was seen by many as the heiress to comedian Kristen Wiig.

McKinnon, 38, is the first outspoken lesbian comedian on the show, and is responsible for imitating characters like Hillary Clinton, Alan DeGeneres and Justin Bieber.

She was nominated for nine Emmy Awards, and twice won the supporting actress category in a comedy series.

In recent years she has received many offers from Hollywood.

In the breaks between filming the sketch show, she managed to be photographed for films such as "Demon Mowers" and "Bomb."

She holds the crown of the woman with the most seniority in the history of Saturday Night Live.
