Because of the lockdown, nothing has been going on in the Bad Wiessee casino since November.

Now the casino has reopened.

Director Margit Hirsch (54) speaks in an interview about the return of the roulette ball.

Ms. Hirsch, the ball has been rolling again in Casino Bad Wiessee since Wednesday (June 9th).

How relieved are you?

Margit Hirsch:

I am very, very happy.

We never expected the lockdown to take so long.

It was just nice to see all of the employees again on Wednesday.

And the colleagues were also happy that things were finally going again - despite the short-term opening, they were all ready immediately.

How did the first few days go?

Margit Hirsch:

Wednesday was very well attended.

At 2 p.m. in the machine shop, we had a capacity of around 90 percent.

The response on Thursday was a little more subdued, but it was still exceptionally good.

For the weekend, I assume that we will have full occupancy in both gaming halls.

The number of visitors is still limited, isn't it?

Margit Hirsch:

Yes, currently 195 visitors are allowed.

For the little game we have a total of 107 playable machines downstairs and are allowed to let 95 visitors in.

This means that the guests still have a good selection even with maximum occupancy.

We have also temporarily set up 26 brand-new machines in the Winner's Lounge, as nothing is happening there at the moment - these machines can also be used from 4 p.m.

How do I know whether a trip to Bad Wiessee is worthwhile or whether the casino is already full?

Margit Hirsch:

We always publish up-to-date information on how the casino is visited on our website.

We particularly recommend to our guests from abroad: Take a look!

Otherwise it could happen that visitors have to wait to be let in.

To be on the safe side, I've already prepared waiting numbers.

How about the big game.

Is the full range already available?

Margit Hirsch:

We are currently not allowed to offer poker and French roulette because the Plexiglas partition walls cannot be installed there.

But American roulette and blackjack are possible.

Which guests came in the first few days since the reopening?

Margit Hirsch:

Most of them were regulars who were very happy that we finally opened again.

But at the big game we already had a few guests from abroad who are on vacation here.

I also expect a lot of first-time visitors on the weekend.

During the lockdown there were quite a few requests from people who would like to come for the first time.

Game operations are only possible under special hygiene requirements.

How are you doing with that?

Margit Hirsch:

We work in an exemplary manner here.

For example, we have our own cleaning service who disinfects the machines after each use.

In addition, guests must wear an FFP2 mask at all times.

It is noticeable that after the first lockdown we had to have a lot of discussions with our guests about it.

This time it's different: So far there have been no problems at all, everyone has their masks on as a matter of course.

The current opening times of the Bad Wiessee casino
