Google Chrome (Photo: AP)
Google surprisingly released yesterday (Tuesday) a critical security update to its popular Chrome browser for the Windows operating system (Windows), which updates the browser to version 103.0.5060.114.
This is to close a loophole in the browser's JavaScript engine.
The vulnerability comes with a high hardware rating and could affect more than 3 billion users worldwide.
In total, the critical update addresses four vulnerabilities, including a new zero-day vulnerability - a nickname for a hitherto unknown security breach - by various attackers.
Google's recommendation is to update the browser manually in settings, rather than waiting for an automatic update.
