The Minister of Agriculture and Agrarian Reform, Engineer Muhammad Hassan Qatana, explained in a statement to reporters that the ministry announced a group of investment projects in accordance with the new Investment Law No. 18 of 2021, and its regulations were drawn up and investors were invited to invest in the agricultural sector, noting that the number of projects submitted was very low, especially in The field of investment of water and land resources, and the topic was limited to some projects related to the food and agricultural industries and some requirements.

Qatana stressed that the workshop constitutes an opportunity for dialogue and discussion between the ministry and the concerned authorities to develop a common future vision to encourage increased investment in the agricultural sector, both plant and animal, pointing out that the ministry has taken all measures that encourage investment in the agricultural sector to ensure its continuity and sustainability and has prepared the procedural guide and map for investment projects to As well as technical guides for licensing agricultural facilities and inventory of state properties that can be invested.

Qatana pointed out that the workshop aims to introduce notifications 16 and 17 issued by the Presidency of the Council of Ministers related to the guide to land uses and facilities that can be established on agricultural lands, what are the conditions and limitations, and how and how to implement the two notifications in the coming period.

Director of Agricultural Economy in the Ministry, Dr. Ahmed Diab, indicated that the workshop is a complementary step to the work carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture on the level of agricultural investment and the measures it has taken in terms of developing and encouraging investment in the agricultural sector, starting from the procedural and technical guides to the investment map and the subsequent training of representatives The Ministry of Agriculture in all centers of the Investment Authority.

Director of Land and Water, Dr. Jalal Ghazaleh, explained that the aim of communications 16 and 17 is to emphasize the preservation and use of agricultural lands, especially after the encroachment on agricultural lands during the last period, and it is necessary to emphasize the productive capacity guide issued in 2008 and amended in 2021.
