Schongau - classrooms that, according to the expert, cannot be adequately ventilated, have now been equipped with air filters.
Seven of the devices were purchased in middle school, four for elementary school.
Mayor and chairman of the middle school association Falk Sluyterman described the acquisition as a "good way". He hopes to be able to prevent another corona-related distance lesson. Around 20,000 euros were invested in the middle school and around 14,000 euros in the elementary school. Around half of the costs are covered by state funding.
According to city architect Sebastian Dietrich, the devices from Wolf are the quietest on the market. The filter devices have a so-called HEPA-14 filter and an upstream activated carbon filter, according to the city builder at a press conference in the technical center on Monday. The "Air Purifer" sucks in the air from below and blows it out again high above. As a result, the students hardly notice anything except the slight humming emanating from the device. However, according to Dietrich, the specifications would be complied with; in normal operation, the devices would not exceed 34 decibels.
